The application for the following JSPS Postdoctoral fellowship is now closed (TSK).
Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is now offering Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers (Pathway to University Positions in Japan). Although this is a one- or two-year program, DGRC is potentially able to support three more years when both the researcher and DGRC agree.
We published a paper entitled "Two types of cis-trans compensation in the evolution of transcriptional regulation" (Takahasi, K. R., Matsuo, T. and Takano-Shimizu-Kouno, T. (2011) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 108, 15276-15281), in which we find evidence that the cellular environment regulating gene expression is changing, the genome (the other genes) copes with the changes (or vice versa), and that such coevolution occurs on a short time scale. We are now especially interested in 1) testes and sperms from a standpoint of evolving cellular environment.
